Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome

Melanin

This patient was referred because of intraoral melanoplakias and melanin spots on the skin. At the first visit the patient did not complain of any intestinal problems. During the next couple of months she developed gastrointestinal problems and was diagnosed with anorexia. However, at a 6 months follow-up with her oral medicine specialist, a Peutz-Jeghers syndrome was suspected and later confirmed. The patient was later diagnosed with intestinal polypoid lesions.
